About Alisa J Noleen:

Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Idaho and a National Certified Counselor. I earned my bachelor’s degree in social science from Boise State University in 2003 and earned my master's degree in mental health counseling from Idaho State University in 2012.  Throughout my career, I have enjoyed working within local non-profit, university, and community counseling agencies. I have managed teams of mental health professionals, created presentations for colleagues, taught parenting classes, and led social-emotional skills groups to elementary aged-students. I now enjoy working in private practice full time focusing solely on adult individuals.

I am trained in a variety of counseling interventions to help meet your particular needs, but my primary modality is EMDR and I work through an Internal Family Systems lens to nurture and heal parts of ourselves that have been burdened by the past and present. Check around this site for info or contact me to see what this might look like for you.

My areas of interest and study include trauma, abuse, anxiety and depression, multicultural issues, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, family of origin issues, and issues stemming from incomplete or interrupted attachment experiences. My ongoing continuing education tends to focus on EMDR trainings to keep updated on new EMDR protocols; IFS/Ego state trainings; socially conscious care; and keeping informed on issues affecting marginalized, minoritized, and LGBTQAI+ communities.

I am a National Certified Counselor and a member of the American Counseling Association. I also make regular contributions, financially and otherwise, to organizations that help further the education and awareness of the benefits of mental health.

I maintain a current Idaho License issued by Idaho Bureau of Occupational Licensing  http://ibol.idaho.gov/IBOL/BoardPage.aspx?Bureau=COU.
